Mad for the moon? So am I. Moons are a beautiful way to capture a special day, or make tangible the sacred and the symbolic. Did you know the moon you were born under can share some beautiful insights with you around someone’s personality tendencies?
Here are some of my moon paintings done in the past, and things to look at when commissioning your own moon. There are no hard and fast rules. Everything below is just a gentle guideline. I created this collection so you can get a feeling of what you’re drawn to.
Moons with a little more whimsy. They’re watery, they’re romantic and they’re great for sharing emotion.
If it’s a gift for someone consider their spirit animal, nature spots they love and colours they’re drawn to.
Moons & Starscapes
Moons with meaning. They remind us of significant moments. These moons come about for special events like a child’s birthday or anniversaries. Think of their moon and star signs or landscapes that hold special relevance.
Moons with energy. They tell stories. These moons capture spontaneous magic, full moon hikes, blood moons and harvest moons and are great for thoughtful little gifts or even product branding or packaging.
Moons of love. These moons are mindful. They’re about the details of a person (like what moon they were born under, waxing waning, crescent, full or new) or they can shape the intention of a space. Symbolism often comes to play here. The silhouette of a sacred animal, the shape of a significant tree. Moon paintings like this also work well in pairs and are ideal for honey moon or wedding gifts, meditation spaces or bedrooms.

MiniNature is about capturing the details of life in tiny paintings. It's about remembering that nature is vast but vulnerable and that her wisdom and wellbeing lies in our hands. It's about holding onto what matters and living with less stuff and more space to be wild.
