Ai, not super happy with how this one came out. One minute the muse is with you and the next you are on your ace – encountering ‘Lady Resistance’ in all her devilish, egoic glory.
.
So. As it stands: Fox 1: Andrea: One-hundred-and-somethingest or other. Tomorrow’s another day, another chance to dance with the muse. Whatever you do, don’t lose your sense of humour. 🦊

Have you ever wondered if the dog you get is the dog you’re meant to get? I believe dogs are guides to the parts of ourselves we struggle to find. And if we allow them to, the unique personality of the one that comes to you will reveal the part of yourself that you’ve gone looking for. Maybe that’s why they say dogs look like their owners – we’re drawn to what they reflect back at us.â €
.â €
This is Everest, the faithful companion of one @roam4wild. And I’d hazard a guess that his journey would not be what it is without this dog guiding him to such extraordinary places.â €
Thank you, Jeremy and Everest, for the magic you two put out into the world. I for one, remain inspired.â €

Ask my mother, ever since I was in high school I would go on and on about living in a VW combi like a hippie or gypsy, convinced there was another way to do life that would allow me more travel, more of my owness and less desk and someone otherness.
.
Many years later I still can’t shake this desire. It’s just now, thanks to the ability to connect to other humans globally, I have proof that others want to and do manifest that lifestyle desire too.
.
So in my deep respect and admiration and gratitude for anyone living little, and in continuation of the @wilddrivelife painting that started it all – I’m gonna be adding more #vanlifeand #tinyhome inspired paintings to this 365 challenge. A little living collection within a collection of little paintings all telling their own big story.

Oh dear.
I have no deer.
But never fear.
To myself I am near.
🦌
A little self-love-filled pre-Valentine’s poem to explain the ‘whoopsi’ in this painting.
This was meant to be the third deer painting in my recent set of deers that never came about because – fuck structure.
But I did have the background done so yesterday, it was time. However I was also reattempting sourdough bread again for the first time since starting this challenge. (I may have intentionally left Jitterbug, my rye starter, on the microwave to die because my angst of painting daily and feeding a starter and baking was overwhelming. Moms of the world – my deepest bow of admiration to you!).
So the painting happened between the many many turns and folds of sourdough baking and I, therefore, didn’t pay a heck of a lot of attention to the proportions of this scene. By the time I realised I had given too much space for the sky and would therefore have not enough for the deer, it was too close to done to ‘move mountains’.
Oh well, I’m learning to “make space for grace”. Now, this just what it looks like when you’re lying on a hill in the long grass, admiring the view over your toes.
And I dedicate it to anyone who won’t have a ‘dear’ beside them this valentine’s day. You are your dearest deer. Don’t let society tell you otherwise!

When it feels like you’re holding on for Dear Life to make your ‘thing’ come right, remind yourself that you’re the creator not just a creation and Give It Friggin Horns.
Artist study. Not for sale.

Now that you know about my affinity for continued threads and groups of three (read yesterday’s caption), I’ll tell you I had three days of lovely deer paintings planned in the lead up to Valentine’s day with some varied introspection on all the many things we can hold dear in life other than a significant other to ‘complete us’.
But in truth I have no soft introspection to offer when it feels like I’m using every bit of my reserves to get on top of my A-game again. And so I’ll leave you with this instead:
When it feels like you’re holding on for Dear Life to make your ‘thing’ come right, remind yourself that you’re the creator not just a creation and Give It Friggin Horns!
