Scary Reason No 4 to not pursue your creative path
.
Bumping up against a wall (or multiple granite plinths) of self-doubt and/or realisations of being potentially potential-less.
.
Ho Hum. This is a fun one. What sounds like self-pity to an outsider can be a crippling thing to face if you have ‘perfection’ tendencies. 🙋🏼 And the worst part is – the more you repeat it to yourself – the bigger and more real a fear it becomes to overcome.
.
You know who else makes good use of repetitive phrases? Witches. While folklore may attribute their magic to potionary of sorts – witches are in truth a very literal and sometimes exaggerated manifestation of individuals who aren’t afraid of using their powers; powers of persuasion that is.
.
So instead of casting yourself some dooming spells, repeat good magic phrases to yourself – again and again until you believe them.
.
I went with “With every day you’ll be better than you were yesterday.” That way I’m reminding myself that
1) in order to improve I have to start
2) the only person I’m comparing myself to is myself

This kind of repetition quickly turns insurmountable granite plinths of self-trepidation, that you think someone else put there (but really it was you) into granite pillars of self-worth realisation. You’re doing your thing for only you. Your journey of improving.
And You Can. You can. You can. 🌟

This landscape looks like a John Denver song.
.
This lovely scene came to me via @damdickey who’s been following my painting journey and wanted to share a pic with me she thought would make a good miniature. I was so thrilled that a human somewhere else on the planet saw something and thought of me and my minis!! So I tracked down the photographer, @wj400m, who takes some seriously stunning shots and asked if he’d be cool with my using his photo for derivative work in my 365. William was in like gin and now a miniNature exists that would maybe never have come to life had it not been for their inspired hearts and generosity of their spirits.
.
I call that taking in a humanscape.

.
Thanks @damdickey and @wj400m for being part of what makes a challenge like this so so awesome!
.
Big love.🦄

Where does the mist end and the valley begin? Where does the mountain top meet the cloudline?
.
When you’re feeling like the distinctions are unclear, do like nature does and let it all just roll into one heady spectrum.
.
What does it matter anyway? As long as you’re still somewhere in the middle of all this beauty, then that’s the thing worth marvelling at.
.
And no, I was not rolling other things while painting and writing this. Some days – high on life is an actual state of being.

‘She Sell Sea Shells’ – Day 154/365

‘She Sell Sea Shells’ – Day 154/365

Perhaps the whole “she sells sea shells” thing is a nursery rhyme analogy for wanting to make a living from a life you don’t need a holiday from?
.
Perhaps that’s why the rhyme seems ridiculous. Sea shells are free. How can she sell them? I’ll tell you how. Because she’s walked the beach back and forth a thousand times to find the most beautiful ones. And she’s polished them up. Most people just don’t have the time for that. So really what she’s selling you is her patience and her passion. Her shells are right there – a perfectly preserved memory of your 10 minutes on the beach.
.
Perhaps she’s not so silly after all?🐚
