‘Change is our Nature’ – Day 151/365

‘Change is our Nature’ – Day 151/365

by Andrea Fedder | May 31, 2019

There was no word more perfect than ‘Nature’ to describe the world I so loved, the work I wanted to give myself to and the human stories that accompanied many of my paintings. There in my mind’s eye, I saw it – a big swooshing N, like the top of a hill sliding into the middle of my ‘M I N I A T U R E S’. And that’s the story of my new season and this new brand name.

Remember a while back I mentioned I’d be changing the brand name under which I’ve been creating my miniature landscapes?
.
Well, the snake is ready to shed its skin today. My thinking along this journey has become very minimalist-oriented and I wanted to create under a name that reflected that as well as speaking simply to what it is that I create – miniature paintings of nature.
I spent a good 4 solid weeks driving myself (and my sounding boards) totally nuts trying to unpack this sentiment. Someone I once worked with and really admire, once said ‘simple is hard’. How right he was, I never realised until now. While I ventured down countless rabbit holes, I knew the name I was looking for would be staring me in the face the whole time. .
One afternoon in the forest, sitting under a tree, staring out at the horizon, it occurred to me that there was no word more perfect than ‘Nature’ to describe the world I so loved, the work I wanted to give myself to and the human stories that accompanied many of my paintings. It is what I live for.
There in my mind’s eye, I saw it – a big swooshing N, like the top of a hill sliding into the middle of my ‘M I N I A T U R E S’. And that’s the story of my new season and this new brand name.
Swipe to see my new logo and tag line. I snuck it into the tiny painting – can you see it? ’19gramgallery’ has taken me as far as it could and I will always love the little story behind it. But to embrace our own growth, we must welcome and celebrate the shedding of our skins. After all, change is our human nature.
