You know that expression – “be so happy that the sun shines out of your face”? I thought of that constantly while painting this green, hilly scene of West Java in Indonesia. I don’t know of a single soul, myself included, who’s been to Bali or elsewhere in Indo, and who hasn’t returned beaming, glowing from the inside out. It’s a land of utmost gentility, where even the shadows show you the way.
