Artist anxiety – when the subject matter you’re painting means almost too much to you that you fear you’ll never do it justice and then said self-instilled anxiety disables you from capturing it the way you wanted. :p
Hilarious – life and it’s self-fulfilling prophecies.
.
Whenever I feel anxiety set in during my painting (it does that A LOT) I step away from the teeny tiny paintbrushes and go with a longer bristled fluid brush with a fine point and palette knife. It allows me to sever my stigma of ‘replica = perfection = good artist’ and just get the hell on with reconnecting to the smell of the sanded curved wood and the circular conversations we had in that enveloping structure.
.
It sure burned beautifully 🔥✨
